The Alfords

Spencer, Leslie, Mark, Alex, M.A.

Mark and Leslie Alford own and operate the Lone Star Ranch.  Together with their three children, M.A., Sissy and Spencer, they are working to make it the best horse stable in the greater Kansas City area!

Mark and Leslie bought the 20 acre facility in April of 2005 from Tony and Lucy Amaro.  The Amaros spent the previous 35 years making Amaro Arabians into a world class training center.

In the mornings, Mark anchors the morning news on the Fox TV affiliate in Kansas City.  But, in the afternoons, you can often find him at the ranch, overseeing improvements, visiting with clients, or talking with anyone who just happens to stop by.

Mark and Leslie's youngest son, Spencer isn't much into horses and is hoping they'll build a world-class skate board park on the property.  However, skateboards and horses don't mix.  Come on by sometime for some free coffee in our heated lounge or watch the riders outside from the Lone Star porch swing under the arms of a century old tree.  We want you to feel right at home!
