Kathy Murphy
Certified Riding Instructor in English and Western

Kathy Murphy has ridden and shown since early childhood in the hills of California.

After running speed events and working races horses in Chicago, Kathy moved into western pleasure,  hunter under saddle and hunter over fence disciplines.   Showing on the AQHA circuit, Kathy and her daughter have had the honor of qualifying horses and subsequently showing and placing at World finals.  Kathy’s daughter,  Kristen, recently finished graduate school is no longer in the Midwest so Kathy devotes most of her free time training horses and students of all ages.  Her philosophy is safety first, fun and take something new with you each ride instilling a partnership between rider and horse.  Each student is guided and prepared on an individual basis with his or her own goals in mind whether it be safe trial riding or showing.  Students work with lesson horses, their own horses or a combination. Unique to the program is a class entitled “Pony Pals” which is designed for the very young equine enthusiast with both classroom and arena settings.  Enrollment for this specialized class is necessary.

Lone Star has developed a series of horse shows, held at the Lone Star Ranch, which provide students the opportunity of experiencing the thrill of competing. The show is open to all skill levels with several disciplines woven into the class schedule.  The shows are open to the public and competitors are welcome at the Ranch.

Kathy is a nationally certified riding instructor.   Her horses and home base lessons are conducted at Lone Star Ranch, Kansas City, Missouri.  Kathy can be reached at 816-682-5004.  Email: kamurphy@shb.com

Becky Rosser
Riding Instruction in English( saddle seat, hunt seat and dressage) and in Western.

I, myself have ridden and shown, over the last 20 years at local, circuit, regional and nationals shows, with several different breeds, which includes, quarter horses, arabians, and draft horses and unknown breeds for dressage.

My former students have competed and placed at Regional and National Levels.

My husband and I have been involved in running show and training barns over the years, until about 7 years ago. We decided to enlarge our family through adoption. We now have 6 children( I know we got carried away with the enlarging).

We quit the horse business for a period of time, other than keeping one of our older show horses, who has become quite the pet. After taking a break, I am now starting to give lessons again. We have moved our beloved pet to Lone Star Ranch. I will be giving lessons for the very beginner, (not under 6 yrs.) to the energetic older generation.

Whether your goal is to learn to ride for fun, for show, or you just need a tune up, I can help you reach those goals. My objective will be safety first, enjoyment, and to obtain a partnership between rider and horse, while obtaining your goals.

I will work with students with their own horses, or I will provide the mount.

I will be looking forward to working with you. I can be reached at 816-763-6114, or e-mail at kcrossers@hotmail.com

I also provide other services as needed such as grooming, exercise, and clipping. If you are on vacation or ill, or whatever the occasion, a little extra help is available.
